We have a full set of club rules displayed at each of our Dojos but here are some main points members should be aware of.
- Full Karate suits including belt must be worn at all times when training.
- Students should bow when entering or leaving the Dojo.
- Children are not allowed to run around or carry out any activities other than individual practice while waiting for their class.
- No t-shirts other than official WWSKA printed t-shirts or plain white or dark blue ones are to be worn without top.
- No jewellery should be worn at any time during training – watches, earrings, rings etc.
- Students should arrive before the lesson starts so that they can be signed in by an instructor and take part in the warm-up session, which is very important before starting to train.
- While you are in the Dojo you must show respect for the other students that are training and keep noise to a minimum. Even if you are having a break there may be other lessons going on.
- Licences MUST be kept up to date.
- No smoking, drinking or eating, chewing gum etc. in the Dojo.
- Keep your finger and toe nails short and clean to avoid injuring your training partner or damaging any training equipment used
- Pads and mitts MUST be worn during kumite (sparring)
- Any injuries sustained during training or from a previous training session should be reported to an instructor as soon as possible.
- Report accidents to the instructor immediately who will then decide on the course of action and record the details in the accident book.
- Know where the fire exits are in case of emergency.
