Wado Ryu Karate InstructorI started Karate in 1999 at the age of 39, when I came along as moral support for my son and was bitten by the “Karate Bug”

I am currently a 3rd Dan and train and instruct at the Kenilworth and Warwick sessions each week. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and abilities as I like the challenge of having to adapt to the needs of the class, depending on the age group that I am teaching.

The most satifing thing is watching the students grow in confidence week by week as the realise that they can actually do what is being asked of them.

My proudest moment was when i received my 1st Dan and was presented this in front of the class. It showed that five years of hard work had been worth it.

I still get nervous when i have to take a grade, but to me it means that it makes it all the more worthwhile when you pass.

I believe it is never to late to start something new, it has brought me a lot of pleasure and some discomfort over the past 10 years….. but I wouldn’t change a thing.
