Hi guys

We had our usual busy class at the chase on Monday session. We split the pee wee class up into small groups and worked on basic kicks and punches, blocks and counters and bagwork. The pee wees are coming along but it’s very slow but to be expected at their age, hopefully there may be a few ready to grade soon if they work hard enough. For the junior/senior class we worked on basics and combination techniques, pairs work working on set techniques, we did a session on sparring which was an experience for a few as they hadn’t worked much on sparring but you can see confidence in a few who wasn’t shy at throwing the attacks out! We finished the session working on kata.
Tuesday session at Kenilworth we split the class up Nick took the green and blue belts and worked on traditional stances and kata which was much needed but there was good effort from his group and signs of improvement and confidence, I took josh and worked him through his 1st dan syllabus, there is work to do on his stances and certain techniques need work but I’m sure with hard work and dedication he will get his 1st dan soon, keep working at it josh!
Thursday session we worked most of the class together we set the dojo mat up and worked in pairs working on some self defence techniques with one side attacking and the other defending and disabling their opponent some of the juniors hadn’t done much work on this so it was an experience for them but they done well to listen and carry out the set pieces. While we had the mat out we worked on sparring which again some of the junior students hadn’t done much sparring before so it was good experience for them to get used to being attacked and having to defend themselves. Dave p took the brown belts and worked on kata and traditional stances. Don’t forget guys we are hoping to grade some students in a couple of weeks so if you’re not sure if you’re grading ask your instructor.
That’s it from me, have a good weekend!

Pete
