Hi all,

We had a busy week at the chase was manic with well over 20 juniors and a busy senior class with everyone there!
We had to split the class into little groups with so many juniors with different abilities. Nick, Paul and Craig took the junior grades and worked on some basic kicks and punches and some bag work which most of the students are coming along really well and will soon be due to take a grading!
Dave A took the mixed grades and worked on set techniques in pairs, bagwork and traditional stances and techniques so they can perfect their moves in their katas. Dave P took the senior grades and worked on traditional stances and senior kata the techniques was looking sharp and snappy and is improving week by week keep up the hard work guys!
Tuesday session was busy we split the class up, Nick took new senior student and worked on basic fighting stance, basic front kick and punch and worked the techniques on the punch bag, he done well for his first lesson so hopefully he will be back this Tuesday, I took the rest of the class and worked them in pairs on set techniques testing their balance and control against their opponent this proved challenging but good training! We worked a session on the bags changing the techniques each session so to get them thinking and using their initiative. We then finished working on pinan katas and senior kata for the blue and brown belts which needs improvement but with some intensive sessions on kata I’m sure they can perfect their katas.
Thursday was pretty busy Dave P took the senior grades and worked on senior kata while we worked the juniors together to start off with on the bags using all their techniques they know to get them motivated then we split the class up I took the red and yellow belts and work mainly on the first 2 katas which is a huge improvement to last time I took them but still work is needed to perfect them. Dave A took Matthew and worked on kata which his moves are looking sharper and he seems more confident so keep on digging at it Matthew! Paul took Norbu and worked on his basic blocks and counters which is coming along well he needs to work more on his movement to perfect the techniques but in time I think he will have it sorted but looking good and he’s very enthusiastic. Nick took Andy and worked on some basics and combinations which is looking nice and sharp which is what I expect going by his capabilities. We all worked together for the senior class and worked on intensive bag work which was exhausting and finished on kata work!

That’s it from me guys! Have a good one, see you next week.

Pete
